"very poor ranking for battles. you waste money for tanks and then they nurf them to the point they are unplayable i.e. fv etc. wasted good money for mafia battle pass to move very slowly through it to the point i have no chance of getting to the end due to the fact you need one of 3 tanks for better points and with the very difficult way to earn coins to buy tanks well impossible.. there is only about 5 decent maps witch means very poor attention to this game from development."

"Matchmaking problem Wargaming do not care for the opinion of their players, this was once a great game, it could've stayed that, but the current makers are way too greedy. The matchmaking is horrible , after claiming they improved it, it became better in one way and stayed horrible in others. I know most people are not a fan of skill based matchmaking, but believe me(playing since 2012) it needs it. This game is supposed to be a teamwork game, so when you get a team full of vegtables, you stay no chance of winning, even if you're #1 WoT player in the world. I'm also not a fan of SBMM in games such as CoD, but some kind of it has to be added to this game, otherwise it's not a strategy game, but a psychological horror. And that's an understatement . Pay to win So for the non players, you have a normal kind of ammo and the better kind that has better penetration and velocity, but it costs much more. You can buy the game currency with real money and then the ammo. Wargaming made this game in the way that if you are not using it, you will have a harder time. But to be able to use the ammo all the time you need in-game money and to earn that you need to play(or just buy) and be decent too. Almost everything in this game costs something, free-to-play players will have to play way more to get next tanks and upgrades. Oh and also you can basically just buy every"

"Played it for the first time in 2026, and I enjoy it a lot. The FTP aspect hasn't been a problem at all, the game is very generous early on. You get tonnes of tanks, money and xp for free, and a month of premium. The gameplay is pretty unique, and suprisingly tactical. Despite its age, the graphics hold up pretty well imo. First time starting can seem jarring with how cluttered the main menu is, but it's all very simple and you'll see through it all fairly fast. Overall, if you're looking for a solid FTP game, this one is an easy recommend! I haven't experienced a great unbalance yet. There have been some things that I found to be unfair (certain artillery, certain heavy tanks), but nothing too bad, and all was counterable. MY ONLY GRIEVANCE is what an immense difference a fully leveled tank crew makes. It takes seriously forever to level them, and the benefits are absurdly high."

"Changing my review to a much shorter version, just skip it. It is basically pokemon with tanks and they just want you to pay for them all. 2.0 changes nothing about the game except adding T11, so if you played in the past were tired of the maps, terrible matchmaking, their nickel and diming, then don't bother coming back. It has only gotten worse. If you never played and are thinking about it, just save your self time and money and avoid it. What the footage doesn't show is the terrible mechanics. Spotting for example is just plain stupid. You can be looking at a 100 ton vehicle in a city and it will just disappear if they stop moving or haven't fired for 12 seconds. You can have shot seemingly fall out of your barrel due to the terrible RNG. Literally had one come out backwards tonight, shot over cover and it some how splashed in front of me even though my barrel extended beyond the cover. Yes the game can be fun at times, but wargaming has zero desire to improve the game. Their business model is launch as many battle passes as possible, charge you $15.00 for them to get more skins, crew, etc.. Premium is about $12.00 a month, Plus is another $10 and you still have to buy things on top of it, like the passes. Terrible value and the cost just isn't justified. "Recommended? Ehh… depends how much you like your wallet. WoT used to feel like a strategy game where patience and skill mattered. Lately (probly since like covid times) it feels like it’s heading full-speed down the Lootbox Highway with a trunk full of microtransactions rattling around. New events, “special” chests, premium passes inside premium passes… it’s like the game saw mobile gacha systems and said, “Yes please, give me ALL of that!” and they still found a way to add more. Progression used to be slow but satisfying. Now it’s more like: grind forever or open your wallet and skip the line. And the balance? Let’s just say premium tanks seem to get more love than the tech tree — like the devs are as horny for monetization as a teenager before his first date. The core is still fun: tanks feel great, the maps are solid, and those clutch moments are awesome. But it’s hard to enjoy the battlefield when every menu screen is trying to sell you a new “limited-time” deal. If you’re new: expect a good game wrapped in a casino lobby. If you’re returning: prepare for nostalgia mixed with a creeping urge to check your bank account."

"I wanted more than anything to enjoy one of my favorite childhood games, unfortunately this game just needs a full overhaul that it will never receive. Its a pc game with mobile game tendencies, the high skill ceiling is good, but also puts the nail in the coffin when you realize youll need to fire gold (ammo you pay real money for) to reach that ceiling. the game uses a tier system for tanks, you can grind thru the first 6-7 tiers where youll only ever face braindead bots, (this takes hours ... )or once again, you can pay money to get a tank with a high enough level you might get some real players.. Unfortunately its just not worth it."

"Just a little more balancing could go a long way. This game seems to punish solo players especially if you're just an average or below player. I've never seen such a huge margin of skill in a game so technical as this before. There is a massive volume of dedicated pros/sweats that play this game. just a small amount of skill based balancing would make this game soo much more enjoyable for many casual players such as myself. I play everyday for a few hours, and since I'm not a pro I get penalized for my lack of skill. this applies especially if you plan on purchasing the improved battle pass. if anyone is to be able to complete the entire battle pass without buying stages they are pros at the game. I regret buying my improved battle pass as i will likely barely If I'm lucky finish just a third to one half of the battlepass basically making my purchase feel more like a theft since my skill level prevents me from obtaining much of the content... here's how it works: for victories: Top 3 XP earners= 7 battle pass points. Top 10XP earners= 5 battle pass points. for draws/defeats: Top 3XP earners= 5 battle pass points. Top 10 XP earners= 3 battle pass points. there are 50 battle pass points needed to complete any one stage of the 50 stage battlepass. so if you do not perform well enough to make it amongst the top 10 xp earners you receive NOTHING!...NADA!....SQUAT!.... and that serves you right! for being a mediocre player! "I first played World of Tanks more than ten years ago. Most of my complaints about the game back then are still true to this day - unlocking stuff can feel very grindy, the learning curve is tremendous, and the community is full of literal raging children and drunks who make muting team chat a wise choice. And yet, with the 2.0 update, and tons of free stuff thrown my way for having an old account, I can't help but find myself wanting to play every single day. While tank-based combat in games like Battlefield can feel pretty one-dimensional, WoT's physics based damage modeling makes good aim secondary to good decision-making and map and tank knowledge and awareness. Some elements of the game, such as having a fully-upgraded, crewed, and supplied tank, can be rapidly accelerated by spending real $$$ on the game, and do make playing the game significantly more enjoyable. So less pay-to-win and more pay-to-have-fun than others in the F2P space. Don't get too hung up on the silliness of the TI-III tanks and their go-kart experience, the game definitely gets more fun the higher you go on the tech tree, for better or worse. Finally, this is a game for relatively patient people - if you blindly rush into combat every game, you'll be literally bankrupted and forced to spend money to keep playing like a goon."

"The game itself is phenomenal. The graphics are awesome and the music is outstanding. But the problem is, the game is a bit of a money vacuum. It's advertised as free to play, but it's not. You at absolute minimum need to buy world of tanks premium which is a monthly subscription. Its not expensive but its still something to consider because it is money spent. And if you don't want to spend a ridiculous amount of hours grinding up the tech tree to get the tanks you want, you will have to spend quite a bit of money to get there. The microtransactions, along with the loop boxes, are pretty expensive at times and can get annoying and tedious, since it forces you to spend money in order to get certain tanks. Overall, the game is amazing. But the amount of money that you spend might not be for everyone. I do recommend this game, but a fair warning, you will spend money in this game. It's pretty much unavoidable."

Here's my take on the game: PRO - Graphics: The game looks great, running on a custom-designed graphics engine which has surprisingly moderate system requirements - There are many different tanks to research - WoT features lots of community events; there's something new almost every week - Games can be entered quickly, and servers are generally quite stable CON - Strong pay-to-win aspects. Some examples: new premium tanks are mostly stronger than researchable tech tree tanks (used to be different btw), playing high tier matches is hardly an option unless you invest money, premium ammunition and other consumables that provide a distinct advantage cost a lot of credits (which again are difficult to afford without paying real money) ... etc. - Premium tanks are very expensive, with a single tank often costing 30 Euros and more (To be fair, it is not really necessary to buy too many, though) - The WoT community is probably among the most toxic among all online games - certainly the worst I know, by a mile. So toxic, in fact, that there is a series of YouTube videos dedicated to demonstrate just how destructive players sometimes are - Poor map designs: Many maps are one-sided (i.e. favour spawn points), offer little variation or are really"

"I played before it was on steam so the steam hours is wrong! The reason I don't recommend this game is the grind issue that has plagued this game for a long time now. The 2.0 is a quick gain in currency but if you dont atleast get 3K or more dmg in one match you lose credit and this is with boosters and premium the devs want new player but the game is not friendly to new players thanks to the grind and income in the game."

"Could of been a great game, but the CEO's greed was too strong.. loot boxes in loot boxes, OP premium tanks, if you want to be competitive the game mechanics forces you to spam "special" ammunition against tanks with no weak spots, other gamba/gotcha/p2w aspects. Saying that with +45k battles on my main account."

"🧨 World of Tanks – If frustration were a game, this would be it. 🐌💸 I love World of Tanks. Truly. It's just delightful how I get thrown into battle with a tin-can tank against enemies that seem to be made of titanium and piloted by Chuck Norris himself. 🦾💀 🎯 Matchmaking? Ah yes, the good old lottery system. Or as I like to call it: “Russian roulette with tanks.” Sometimes I wonder if my tank even has ammo or if I'm just firing marshmallows. 🎈 And when I explode instantly, I ask myself: Was that my fault? Or just the game whispering, “Spend money, you poor soul.” 💳🫠 💰 Pay-to-progress? No no, of course it's all totally fair. The fact that you can level up faster with real money is pure coincidence. And anyone who thinks the game is designed to make you spend cash is clearly wearing a tinfoil hat. 🧢✨ 👴 I'm old enough to remember... ...a time when games were played for fun — not to feel like a walking ATM. But hey, maybe I'm just nostalgic. Or naïve. Or both. 🤷♂️ 💚 And yet: I still like World of Tanks. It's like a toxic ex — you know it's bad for you, but you keep coming back. So here I go again, climbing into my cardboard tank, hoping I won't explode in the first 10 seconds. 🧨🚗"

"Fun game to pass the time, I like the mechanics of the battles and graphics are good as well. Monetisation is a bit crazy , so is a barrier to fully enjoying the full game, however other than a premium account, you can still have fun, though the grind is very very very very steep. My only big concern is lack of new players, most of my low rank battles seem to be filled with bots, maybe WOT 2.0 will solve that."

"Constant innovation and updates from the developers during the whole life of the game, with no end in site. I have nearly 20k games now and still am thrilled and frustrated by the battles each time I play. Easy to progress free to play, or you can pay to reduce the grind, as you like."

"I have played this game for years, even on Xbox. Its chess and money hungry. Play the game regularly or add money, its the same game, money makes it faster but not really instant."

"Matchmaking is ♥♥♥♥ - you have to fight against higher tier tanks most of the time. Game doesn't explain anything to you - have fun spending hours to figure out basic game mechanics before you can have fun. Takes way to long to unlock stuff and there is no "try this tank before I spend hours unlocking it only to find out it isn't fun" mechanic at all."

"I have tried this game out casually and can safely say that unless you´re willing to spend money, you´re going to have a hard time. Premium time, premium ammo and fully trained crews are essential for good performances and shocker: as a beginner you have none of those! This game is deliberately making you feel frustration until you give in and buy gold to skip the grind. However, there is a way to enjoy yourself again: uninstall and forget World of Tanks."

"A good game. A bit overpriced in terms of how much time it takes to get another tank and you DON'T no life it. Gameplay is very smooth and have no objections there. Only other thing than the pricing and time it takes to get new tanks is that you meet a lot of pay to win people (at least in my playtime I have.) Dont get mad its a thing that all games have."
