"Don't let you fool by my low ingame hours here. I played since 2012 over 40k games at WG's own Client with an Ingame-Rating of over 8.000 and 56% Winrate overall. Paused for two years and wanted to try it, since it's NOW possible to link steam and play with your old account. The Game is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ par excelence. RNG decides almost everything. Every 20th game you get a good result to assume the game is good. It's a pure cash grab and you re frustrated every day. Don't even start, because the game itself is fun and addicting but sooner or later you throw money at them and you will regret it. The grind is horribly long, more than a full time job. New players will get farmed from old sweatlords and you cant grind without premium ♥♥♥. Had big hopes after the latest announcements but as ALWAYS WG wants money, nothing more!"

"Good game, but the grind is very heavy and still has aggressive monetization. From 2026 april there is also a ban phase in Onslaught mode, which means new players who just farmed their first T10 tank, just got banned...Imagine Counterstrike where you need to grind every single gun, ammo cost ingame currency, perk cost ingame currency and now you can even ban guns which you dont want to play against, (instead of adapting your strategy). But WG couldnt even implement a banning phase right: if both teams ban the same tank, only that 1 tank is getting banned(1 ban gets wasted), leaving both teams in darkness just like before the update, as we still dont know what other team picked until we spot them ingame. This game is nightmare for F2P new players. This game should have stopped at T8 or T9, but we are at T11 already. Game should have been kept as simple WW2 tank FPS, but its a hero shooter now. If i unlock every tank and playing on highest level, i cant play Tiger 1 or T34 anymore, which made me trying out his game in the first place. 75% of tanks are different and there is not even a consistency on tech lines, they dont teach you how to play the tank or what to expect. Reminds me of Warframe where a lot of half baked ideas go into the game just because other games have it, not because its needed. The crew system is just an other annoying thing to drive you crazy. The tiered system progression and matchmaking is hilariously bad game design, but gets away with it because its WW2 tank theme. "Instead of providing a realistic gaming experience with historical tanks from World War I, World War II, and the Cold War, they are now introducing fantasy tanks that never even existed on paper, complete with bizarre and nonsensical features. They could have simply added modern tanks, like another game did in W** T******, which would have offered a more realistic system and experience. I understand that World of Tanks aims to deliver a more casual yet enjoyable gameplay experience with its unique mechanics. However, with the current update, I highly do not recommend it at all. It is disappointing to have placed so much faith in a game that was once fun, competitive, and somewhat realistic, only to see it ruined by such foolish and nonsensical additions from the some of developer fantasy."

"World of Tanks is a game that perfectly blends tactical gameplay with fast-paced action. At first glance, it might seem like just another shooter, but it quickly reveals a much deeper layer of strategy and teamwork. The variety of tanks is impressive, ranging from light scouts to heavily armored giants, each with its own playstyle. This makes every match feel different, as you constantly adapt to your vehicle and team composition. The progression system is rewarding, giving you a real sense of achievement as you unlock new tanks and upgrades. Visually, the game still holds up well, with detailed tank models and immersive maps. Sound design also deserves credit — every shot and engine roar adds to the battlefield atmosphere. However, the game is not without its flaws. The grind can be quite heavy, especially at higher tiers, and matchmaking sometimes feels unbalanced. Additionally, premium content can give certain players an advantage, which might be frustrating for those who prefer a purely free-to-play experience. Overall, World of Tanks is a solid and engaging game that offers both casual fun and competitive depth. If you enjoy strategy, teamwork, and historical military vehicles, it’s definitely worth trying."

"DO NOT SPEND MONEY with this company. I tried recovering my old account created back in 2011 and wargaming is refusing to send me a recovery password TO MY OWN EMAIL that was used to CREATE ACCOUNT. They claim I need to provide billing information of the bank statements, of a bank that account has been closed 5 years ago........ No options to resolve the issue what so ever and they just spam same message, they are essentially disabling access to my OWN account that I spent probably near 1000Euro on. AVOID"

"Hell no. And with the Steam installer, even more hell no. First, the game has turned into a weeny crock of rubbish. Play their way, against unreasonable paywalls, with unreasonable physics and everything tuned to make you pay more and more to stay equal. Basically, unless you want to sink ten years or ten grand into it, you are not "Free to Play", it is definitely "Pay to Win", or if you prefer a more realistic outcome you are treated as "Free to Lose". And the steam installer stinks. If for any reason you have to reload, the game will reload outside the launcher, and only when it is fully loaded will it then trigger the error "You have to run the game from the Steam launcher". So, a far better experience without Steam altogether. A classic example of enstuffification by both Wargaming and Valve. The worst possible kind."

"You think this being arcade style it'd be less stressful than realistic, well it isn't because every shot and team lineup is a slot machine gamble. Sometimes everything works, other times you miss every shot and bounce off non existent armor no matter how accurate, aimed in, or big your gun is. Still playing it because I have issues, but god this game is a frustrating piece of ♥♥♥♥."

"Playing this game is like dating a toxic, narcissistic, gold-digging partner. Literally. It starts great. The game is a banger, and you are having an absolute blast playing it. But after a while, something starts to feel off, like something is missing. Later, no matter how much time, money, or energy you spend, the game will always make you feel like it’s not enough . It seems like it doesn’t respect your boundaries and doesn’t accept that you might have a life or other games to play outside of it. So after you put in a ridiculous amount of time and money, you understand that it is not you who is the problem — this is a fundamental game design. You start to realize that you don’t even like the game that much anymore. You feel obliged to play it. It’s old, and the community inside it is awful and toxic. People you play the game with might disagree and say you exaggerate, but you realize that they are trapped and don’t play other games to compare it to. And then the healing starts. You play it less and less, or even uninstall it. And that is when the love-bombing begins! New, sometimes long-awaited changes and updates, big bonuses for returning players, lucrative events. You might tell yourself that the game wasn’t that bad, and that maybe you were too invested in it. And then the vicious cycle begins again."

"I played this game from the beta (2011), and the game has been flat out bad lately, paywalls everywhere, ads, dark-patterns, chat atmosphere is toxic (by design, WarGaming has a way of creating buy-impulses from this), Used to be more fun, but the maps are not good either, every favorable spot, they smack down a random shed or rock, and call it an improvement. "I used to play this game way back but I never got far. I'd say that I have about 600-700 hours of playtime. Lately the grind was significantly improved with gifts of premium time and boosters, but this shouldn't be what gives you progression. Your progression should depend on your skill. However, once you get enough victories, the matchmaker will balance it out by putting you with bad teams. I know this is the case by installing XVM (Wargaming approved mod) which shows you the stats and winrate of players in both teams in the current match, and then it calculates the supposed chances of victory according to these stats, which most of the time is proven true. No matter how good you are, you won't save a bad team. That means that you lose and get less xp and credits. Add to that the huge problem of RNG mechanics too. However, the worst thing about this game is that tank draw distance is limited to 560m, and there is a lot of deliberate cover, which means close to medium engagement distances, mostly in corridor types of environment. All of that means that russian tanks (and all similar like chinese and polish tanks) with strong armor and alpha damage reign supreme. You won't get to experience the deadly accuracy of german tanks or the advantages of american gun stabilizers and good suspensions. German tanks are really the worst experience I've had of all the nations I've played. I don't recommend this game to anyone. You're better of playing something more fulfilling and rewarding."

"Played since the closed beta 15 years ago. Took a break for 4 or 5 years. Thousands of battles, thousands of hours. Everything is SO MUCH WORSE lmao. Everyone just spams gold ammo, even if that ammo is available for silver, wallet warriors have a distinct advantage. That's not even considering all the premium vehicles. The UI though. Holy crap. Look how they massacred my boy. It's so cluttered, there are so many stats everywhere, so many different equipment modules to install that all affect your vehicle's stats. It's all so overwhelming compared to a decade ago. Also had some REALLY weird encounters in my few PVP matches. Arty wouldn't have me spotted (made sure to use my crews that were maxed out so I had sixth sense) yet would nail the exact center of my tank multiple times. Very suspicious. Otherwise the majority of the players I encountered would spam premium ammo, you can tell from the bottom left corner of your screen what you were hit with, downright sad. After just a few battles once I left the warmup games, I uninstalled again. I miss classic WoT. Ironically if you want classic WoT, the closest thing you have is WoT on consoles called Modern Armor. It's less complicated, runs better, and even though it has modern tanks it feels more like WoT than current WoT PC does. You even only have to worry about one crew, a commander, intead of training a full crew for every tank. Icing on the cake, a PVE mode you can just relax in. In WoT PC you only have PVP to grind out your tech tree tanks, which means facing wallet warriors and sweats."

"Well... I haven't played much on Steam—mostly through the Wargaming launcher—and... The game has only gotten worse over my 7,000 battles. The graphics and tank models? - Yeah, they're great. But otherwise, this game is just goyslop and a money grab for people who want to shoot at other tanks, and I even get where they're coming from. The game was at least somewhat playable up until 2017–2018, but now it's just a flood of fictional tanks, and the devs can't come up with anything more creative. No events. Nothing new to improve the gameplay. No efforts to reduce the grind in this game. This game is stagnating, and stagnation is worse than depression. TL;DR I don’t recommend this game to anyone; it’ll completely destroy your nerves. But if you’re pretty rich and have a really deep wallet—go ahead and play this mess."

The client is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, and to just open up 1 menu you have to wait like 20 seconds (you have to load 1029338 menus just to add another gun). . In other words: Can be fun but won´t be. P.s. it´s pay to win

"I have rage-quit this game multiple times. I been playin on and off since BETA. In the beginning it was quite fun. I suggest playing uptil tier 8 if you insist on trying this out. After that it gets toxic and you need gold ammo to compete against other players. But I keep coming back like it's a drug addiction. You know you shouldn't do it but you keep doing it. Avoid like the plague! It's pay to win. "Random"games are rigged from the start. RNG is a thing in this: Random Numbers Generated decide where your shot will end up. Like the moon for all they care. ALOT of lootboxes and it's getting worse when time passes on. I believe this is even ILLEGAL in some Europian countries."

"I had this game through the official WarGaming but uninstalled in like 2020 then came back in 2022. Honestly the game is extreamly pay-to-win but if you manage to play free to play then the game is very enjoyable with fun tactics and mechanics. Another thing that most players complain about is the lack of new maps. WarGaming honestly just doesent bother to add new maps despite the players wanting it. In my personal oppinion the best time to play this game is in December because of Christmas and all the free things. Except all that the game is honestly fun with a lot of playstyles so if you like spending money and be good, play this game. If your a free to play player, play this game on Christmas or whenever theirs a huge uptade with WarGaming giving out free stuff"

"I’m still a relatively new World of Tanks player, but even in a short time I’ve already started noticing the cracks in the game. At first the game feels really fun. You get fast progression, easy matches, and unlock tanks at a satisfying pace. But after a while the gameplay loop becomes very repetitive, and progression starts to feel noticeably slower. When advancing through the higher tiers, the skill cap gets steeper. I would say it took me 1000 games to get a bit of an understanding of the gameplay on tier 8-10. The game simply isn´t beginner friendly. You really need to put the hours in and grind to get better. It´s a sweatfest. Balance is also an issue. There are clearly overpowered tanks like the Ares and BZ-176. I’ve had multiple frustrating sessions that just ended in rage quits because of how unbalanced some encounters feel. The monetization also stands out more the longer you play. World of Tanks feels heavily pushed toward a cash-grab model. Premium tanks are often stronger than tech tree tanks, and many of the newer vehicles are locked behind lootboxes with very low drop rates. Realistically, you can end up spending 50€ or more just for a chance at what you actually want. I also expected a more grounded, realistic tank experience, but the direction has shifted quite a bit. The game is increasingly filled with fantasy-like or gimmick mechanics such as double-barrel tanks, boosters, and now even tier 11 vehicles with ridiculous names like “Gorilla”, “Executor”, “Hacker” and similar over-t"

"This used to be a good game but now its just meta tank wins. Almost all the matches are sub 5 min train wrecks that are not fun even if your on the winning side. I mean if your into that kind of game play then this might be for you but be prepare to spend a lot of money on tanks that dominate till the next sale comes out and then its not very good anymore and you need to buy the next one."
